Food and refreshments will be provided by a number of food trucks and other vendors including:
A beer garden will also be onsite serving those 21 and over under temporary permit for race day. Alcohol must be consumed within the beer garden perimeter. Outside food is permitted. Picnic tables and grills are available for use by beach visitors.
Outside alcohol is prohibited at Headlands Beach State Park.
Where and when are the powerboats racing?
The race takes place on Sunday July 22, 2018 at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, OH. The park will open at 7AM. The first race will start at 12 Noon and the final race be at 2PM.
How much does it cost to see the powerboat races on Sunday 22, 2018?
The races are free to watch at Headlands Beach or by water. Parking at Headlands Beach State Park will be $10/car on Race Day only. A free public viewing tent will be located on the beach directly in front of the race course start/finish line offering shaded area, beer garden, entertainment, play-by-play race commentary, and restrooms.

A beer garden will also be located on the beach serving those 21 years and over under temporary permit on Race Day. Alcohol must be consumed within the beer garden perimeter. Outside food is permitted. Picnic tables and grills are available for use by beach visitors. Outside alcohol is prohibited at Headlands Beach State Park.
How do I get there?
Headlands Beach State Park is located at the northern terminus of SR-44 in Mentor, Ohio. If you are coming from SR-2, exit at the Heisley Road / SR-44 North. If you are coming from I-90, take the SR-44 Chardon/Mentor exit and head north.
Where can I park on Race Day?
Regular and handicap parking will be available at Headlands Beach for a $10/car fee. Offsite parking will be available on the grass fields off of Williams St., just South of the Headlands Beach State Park entrance. A free shuttle service will be available at the grass fields lots to transport race fans to and from the beach. Headlands Road will be closed between SR-44 and Jordan Drive to through traffic. There will be no street parking on Headlands Road or SR-44.
Can I watch from my boat?
Yes, one of the things that make this race experience unique is the ability to watch it from the water. You will have to stay out of the defined race perimeter which will be monitored and enforced by the US Coast Guard. Due to safety concerns, kayaks, paddleboards, kitesurfing, and windsurfing are PROHIBITED on race day as per the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are not permitted at Headlands Beach State Park.
Am I allowed to take pictures? How about drones?
Yes, non-commercial photography and videography are permitted and encouraged. If you are a professional photographer or videographer, please register for press credentials at www.raceworldoffshore.global.com. A safety helicopter will be patrolling the beach during the race – therefore drones/quadcopters are NOT permitted on the beach during race day. What if it rains?
The race will go on rain or shine. Race may be delayed or canceled in the event of a lightning threat.
What is the Dry Pit / Race Village at Great Lakes Mall all about?
One of the things which makes the super boat racing experience so unique is the ability to get up close and personal with the boats, drivers, throttle men, and crews who are part of the offshore racing profession. The Race Village will be open to the public on Friday from 9AM to 9PM and Saturday 9AM to 7PM in the West parking lot along Plaza Blvd. at Great Lakes Mall.
What is the Powerboat Party in Downtown Willoughby?
The boats will be paraded from the Great Lakes Mall to Downtown Willoughby on Saturday, July 21, 2018. The street will be closed off to traffic from 7:30PM to 10:00PM while the boats are parked on the street. You can view the boats and meet the drivers, throttle men, and crews who are part of the offshore racing profession.
